[1.04b9] Why Politburo doing this?

Post by demiare »

Currently tooltip say:
Leader Corruption Tendency +2 if high Ambitions
Leader Loyality -2 if high Heroism

What I'm receiving in game is in picture.

Developer bias about Authoritarian is obvious, but I still not understand:
1) Why I get minus to relationship? Tooltip is not saying anything about it.
2) Why I get minus at all?! 44 Heroic is high? Or maybe 35 ambition is high? O_O

It is based on a random 1d100 roll. It will thus just hit more often with high Heroic leaders.

best wishes,
Vic

It may be helpful to rewrite the tooltip in that case.

1) Your tooltip say NOTHING about random nature of process. It's confusing, you should rewrite tooltip.

2) I will repeat - RELATIONSHIP PENALTY isn't mentioned. Why I get a relationship minus?

3) I'm receiving relationship minus instead of:
a) Corruption (so because of Ambitions)
b) Loyalty (so because of Heroism)
c) in ADDITION to previous effects?

Seriously, you should write some details here as relationships are important. Especially in my case when every my game start with 2x crisis's of Egoism.

Also "NATURAL RELATIONSHIP POINT" is too obscure like a @#$%. Seems it's almost always come in play to reduce relationship with leader but very rarely increase relationship. Maybe write some detail here?

My secretary have 97 natural relationship... Guess what? She still sit on 40 after another crisis of egoism.

Please consider that random is fun only when it's known to player. In both situations I'd posted here - I'm as player DON'T expect a random, so they're look for me as obvious bugs. And guess what? This is annoying and killing my pleasure from your game.

Still an issue in v1.25c :

(the extra -2 and -5 are "due to relation higher than natural point")

Worse, it seems that the -2 to Relation is instead affecting the LOWEST Heroism leaders, not the highest ones !
(Unless of course my rolls happened to fall like this, which I guess wouldn't be too much of a coincidence since I don't have many leaders and the heroism spread is pretty tight here.)

Also, I can't be exactly sure that Loyalty hasn't been modified at the same time... because unlike for Relation we have no indication of change turn-by-turn, and no details !

So, yeah, please fix this-
(if it needs fixing, the manual has no mention of this, so I'm not certain about the intended effect)
- and change the Politburo tooltip to something like "chance of Leader [Loyalty/Relation] -2 if [High/Low] Heroism".

And please add similar change arrows and details to Loyalty, like Relation already has. (And Population loyalty has !)

Next version has the correct mouse over... -2 Rel if High Heroism.
Note that this is a simple check if heroism > 1d100 then -2 Rel.
Thanks for reporting!

What is their happiness ?
Is it someone governing a city with bad population/worker happiness ?
How close are their profiles to yours ? Their factions' ?
