Finland not getting supplies

Playing version 1.00.07.3 and Finland has not been receiving the oil & resources that Germany has been sending each turn. I thought that it might be the weather that was stopping resources getting through, but we have had a clear turn but Finland is still not getting the supplies through.

In the Winter you can't send resources to Finland due to the frozen ports. In the summer you can only send resources if you have available MS; note that most of your MS will already be in use transporting resources from Sweden to Germany. So you should check to see how many MS you have and how many are being used for the Swedish route. An odd thing IMHO is that even if you capture Leningrad and have a rail connection with Helsinki, you can still only send resources to Finland via sea with MS.

But if Leningrad is captured and there is an unbroken rail link to Helsinki from Berlin why would production or resources transferred from Germany to Finland need to be shipped by sea at all? In other words, it shouldn't matter if there is a blizzard or not since the production or resources should be going overland by rail.

I believe the game is programmed so that resources and oil transferred to Finland can only be transported by sea, even if there is a rail link.

I think that is a limitation due to the coding of transport routes. Same happen with Greece, you can´t send LL because there is no a valid convoy path between UK and Greece.

I agree. Germany should be able to send production/oil to Finland via rail if the rail lines are open.

Germany should be able to ship resources to any country it has a rail link with. Greece, for example.

UK can´t...I tried and the game says that there is no valid convoy route to Greece.

If the Axis capture Leningrad and have a direct rail link from Berlin to Helsinki the game does not (as far as I can tell) allow Germany to transfer production/resources to Finland via rail, only via the sea convoy route. The problem with this is that it limits the amount of production/resources that can be transferred to the number of available MS. So is this WAD, or is this something that you will be fixing?

I think I might know why. Probably because Helsinki is Frozen and a water hex.
All resources go through the capital. Thus.....

So I will have to do something about that.

It is working as it should. You are missing something like a damaged rail or a Soviet controlled hex.

I am encountering the same problem. There is a trade agreement between Germany and Finland for oil but no oil is reaching Finland. It is the middle of summer and the weather is clear.

Why would Merchants be needed if it's supposed to go by rail? In my current game as Axis, I have owned Leningrad and all of the hexes around it for a year and a half and I have never been able to send PP's or Oil to Finland except via sea.

My experience has been that only the water route is ever used to move supplies to Finland. If you control the rail route it doesn't seem to try to use that as an alternative.
