Any way to force Germans to commit somewhere?

Post by FAA »

Every time I’m playing, Germans stop halfway through Belgium, on turn 2 or so, redeploying troops to fight the Russians. This makes them achieve nothing in the west, and they are too late in the east to help much. Is there a way, a script or something, to force them to commit to one front for at least a few months?

I dunno. AIs traditionally don't play offense as well as defense. Even when playing Germany as a human, I inevitably find I have to trim sail in the west and start sending some units east to deal with the Russians or to help pull Austria's fat out of the fire. Even when you do break into northern France you hit a point of diminishing returns as Germany. At some point you have to stop and bring units back up to full strength.
