I was wondering if or what are your display settings to get the most out of this game?
I set it up at 3840x2160 and the game locked up with half the map loaded kinda weird.Only tried it once
but it is late and I am tired so what say anyone thank you.

Have you set up command line switches? Being old it requires help like I do. See here.

RE: I just purchased a 32" 4K monitor and....
yes I did I set the resolution to 3840x2160 and when I booted the game it locked up.
I did have the resolution set to 1920x1080 when I first booted up on this new monitor and it did not lock up only after I changed it to 3840x2160.
Now at 1920 x1080 witpae is and was fine on my 27inch monitor I would just like to find a way to maybe use that resolution on the 32 inch screen
because at 1920x1080 there is alot of empty black screen I would like to use.I'm sure there something I could work out I'll just have to figure it out thanks.

Just curious what changes you made as I have the same issue on a 38" LG Ultrawide. I uploaded a screenshot of the Coral Sea scenario. Native resolution for the monitor is 3840x1600. I know its a bit overkill but I do like the wide view.

Slick91,
It Looks to me like you have Data Corruption.
You can't fix that with the Display settings.
You need to uninstall the game and then reinstall.

Thanks for the feedback Trugrit, but doesn't appear to be game data corruption at least. I did do a full uninstall-reboot-reinstall-reboot dance and had the same issue. I think there is some kind of bug at least where the 4k resolutions are concerned.
Here is what I was able to get working:
Windowed (RED): If I ran the game in windowed mode using those in RED, I was able to get the game to run fine. However, if I tried to run those same resolutions in full screen - it worked, but the font was blurry/hazy.
Fullscreen (YELLOW):. The only full screen resolution I was able to run fine was the one step down below native (in yellow). Font was good but lost a lot of screen size to play in.
So the good news is it will run, but the bad news is you can't take advantage of the bigger wide screens.
My shortcut options if anyone is interested: "C:\Matrix Games\War in the Pacific Admiral's Edition\War in the Pacific Admiral Edition.exe" -w -px3264 -py1360 -deepColor -altFont -multiaudio

Slick91,
That is Good News.
For Full Screen try using the dd_sw (Direct Draw Software)it can make a big difference.
Below are some other switches I use. I have a wide screen just not as wide as yours.

To Trugrit's switch line, I would add -SingleCpuOrders to ensure the game does not try and use other CPU threads which may have competing programs on them. For your switches, be sure to use the hyphen from the top of the keyboard, not the minus sign from the numeric section.

Thanks for the follow-up!!!
The additional switch lines certainly helped the performance of the game, but the corruption at 3840x1600 (native) is still an issue as it happens either full screen or windowed. Any resolution lower than that seems fine but with a lot of wasted screen space.
It could be a driver problem but hard to know without going through the driver dance.
Here are my specs if anything catches the eye:
ASUS ROG G752VT laptop
Windows 10 Home with latest build & version
using external-GPU with Gigabyte Nvidia 2080 Super via Displayport
Nvidia driver 456.38
LG 38GL950G monitor (with Gsync)
PS I went ahead and opened a new support ticket just to get it officially noted even if nothing can be done at this point.

RE: I just purchased a 32" 4K monitor and....
UPDATE: I used Korvar's SeaBee sticky post and was able to figure out when the screen becomes distorted.
I used those tools and found that my game screen become corrupted at >=3710 pxf resolution (<=3709 works great!). pyf = 1600 is fine and not causing the issue at all.
So, the native resolution for my monitor is 3840x1600 but I can only run the game with a max setting of 3709x1600...not too bad.

Good you figured it out.
I could run my game at higher resolutions but I like to
have nice round range rings and I have old eyes.
For this game I really don't need very high resolution.

OK I reloaded the game and tried and this is what I got - I am not clever, lucky...
One thing is during replay the screen struggles and slips - anything to cure this also the colours are very strong?

Not sure what you mean by "struggles and slips" but the game can only handle so much info at one time. It appears that it draws the screen up to that limit, then loads additional info and draws the other half of the screen. Just my guess.
I know that if you load up the screen with overlays like the F6 hex enhancement, range circles for air and naval units, etc. and then scroll your screen you get a jerky movement as the video card and game work together to draw the screen, add the overlays and show a one or two hex movement, then have to do it all over again. Turning off all the overlays when not needed results in smooth scrolling. I suspect the superwide map display is similar in behaviour for the same reason.
Your monitor should enable you to turn down brightness level and you might be able to reduce colour saturation in your video card settings.

What resolution are you running on those screenshots? I had tearing issues with anything >=3710 pxf...works perfect at <=3709 pxf

I use a window. Here is my Target line:
"D:\Games\WitPAE\War in the Pacific Admiral's Edition\War in the Pacific Admiral Edition.exe" -w -pxf2480 -pyf1400 -deepColor -dd_sw -cpu2 -archive
In the "Compatibility" tab, I also clicked the "Run this program in compatibility mode for" and selected Windows Vista
