Follow the Star Wars Mod Development On My Youtube Channel

Just a quick message on what is happening with my mods.......

The development of the mods was impacted by the virus that hit us as I needed to concentrate on making sure the business I own did not collapse. While I have been quiet in the forum things have been happening behind the scenes which I will let you know about over the coming month.

The first bit of information is that I have set up a gaming channel on youtube called Run and Hide Gamer and I will be showing the latest on my mods including gameplay of those mods.

I also plan to help promote Distant Worlds Universe and the upcoming Distant Worlds 2 as this is still by far the best real-time 4X space strategy game out there.

In the last 30 days I have published 90 videos to my youtube channel and I have started editing the opening video for the first Distant Worlds Universe video which will introduce the mods I am working on for Distant Worlds Universe. This should be released a little later today.

The downside of course to all of this is that you get to hear my voice for the first time when I provide commentary for the first look at the new version of these mods.

There will also be behind the scene guides on how to mod the game and if you are new to Distant Worlds Universe I will do a video response to your questions. If you need help with how to do something in the game you can leave your questions here if you need a video guide on how to do it.

And of course, I will promote Distant Worlds 2 as more news comes out.

I have just finished editing the 2-minute intro video for the mod which will give you an idea of the timeline in which this mod takes place..... this video will be on my youtube channel in 2 and a half hours time.

The next video will be up tomorrow showing some of the mod I have been working on lately.

The next video on my channel later today will show some of the new gas giants I am adding to my mod. I will do a video at a later showing how anyone with photoshop can create their own planets using the same technique.

A third video today has been released showing behind the scenes look at changes that will be made to research and technology if you want to build the T-65 X-Wing Starfighter that Luke Skywalker flew in Episode IV..... or perhaps you want a Tie-fighter and Star Destroyer if you play as the Empire.......I also announce when the new research tree will go live in the mod.

Artwork I have created for part of the mod......

Tatooine is a planet that has an important role in this mod and is one of the many planets that will be attacked by both the Mandalorians as well as the Empire.

Now added to my youtube channel an early preview of the Death Star and an Imperial Star Destroyer...... both full-sized and in testing stages. The final size of these two will decide the size of the smaller ships such as the corvettes, x-wings and tie fighters.

Over the next few days, I will be completing an overhaul of each portait picture for the Star Wars races appearing in the mod. A preview of 8 of them is now shown on my youtube channel including the new looks for Darth Vader and Emperor Palpatine. Tomorrow I replace races that were introduced in the trilogy of movies Episodes 7 through 9.

Hundreds of new planets are being created in photoshop and added to the mod similar to the world shown in the sample below.

With my mod ocean planets for example will not always be blue as this is a color unique to the conditions on Earth and are different in other parts of the galaxy.

Same with desert planets...... they are not always brown...... and forest worlds.... you got it..... not always green.

Prepare yourself for a whole new experience in planets.

Oh.... and that's not all....... the plan is to update the mod with new planets on a frequent basis.

Just a quick update.......

I finished creating 50 Continent Worlds yesterday and have 15 ice worlds completed so far today, with the remaining ice planets expected to be finished today. Monday Australia time I work on the 50 desert worlds and Tuesday the ocean worlds.

Below is an example of one of the ice planets created for my mod...... when I resize the picture for the forum it looses some quality and the planet is actually high detail in the game.

With the planets in the mod you will not be able to look for an iceworld because it is white, or an ocean world, because it is blue, a swamp or forest world because it is green, a desert world because it is brown and volcanic worlds, will not always be a dark brown. In the Universe conditions on each planet determine the color of water, rock, vegetation, and ice so

Volcanic planets are also getting a makeover with planets no longer having just rivers of lava but entire seas that could cover most of the planet.
