It works. It still isn't totally bug free (as is the game itself). You can use it without any other programs, but personally I like to have Skype running (audio only) to communicate with your opponent.

I can see there is almost no movement in the "opponents wanted" section. Is there in the game forum? I would have to install and patch again, just to check it...
