Right then, I`m sold. Can`t wait to try this out and take a newly produced titan out for a spin.

BUT...can anyone tell me the minimum specs for this?

I have my fingers crossed for a favourable answer...

I seem to remember asking Hezter about the 900 megs of space because it seemed to me like a lot and I think I got a lesser figure for an answer. But I may be wrong. Heh, with WS, the more the better, right?

Ouch, 400mhz, thats what my machine is. So its going to be tight. Hopefully it should run (just).

It's not like there's any cut-scenes or flashy animations to worry about :) but then, my favorite games tend to look like spreadsheets with maps. :p

I worked on most of the game using a 400Mhz CPU. I'm using something faster now but it still runs on the old computer and its specs are almost exactly as listed.

TOSWS doesn't look like a spreadsheet with maps. Its going to surprise everyone used to version 1.4 with how great it looks/plays/sounds etc. . . The screenshots don't do it justice.

I actually ran the early beta versions on a computer that was only 300Mhz. I don't know how much it changed from the early to the current, but I would expect if you've got a 400Mhz, you won't have any trouble running it.

I tested on a pentium I 233 Mhz. Though the intro avi was a bit choppy the game was playable.

So don't worry, 400 Mhz will be fine. Disk usage will be less than 500 MB.

uh, actually, probably no, it won't. If this game truly needs DirectX 8.1, TOS: WS will not run on anything that old. DirectX 8.1 is only available for Windows 98 and later.

And, exactly why are you running an OS that is now, what, close to 10 years old?
And why would you expect any software produced this century to actually support it?

TOSWS is an excellent excuse to upgrade to a more current OS.

Yeah, great solution. Would you also give me the cash to do it? That's right, you won't.

shrug, no need to get hostile. Windows 98 is all that you need. Easily obtained second hand fairly cheap.

And again, you shouldn't be so suprised, given the age of your OS.

It is a great solution.
I hadn't even thought about buying it for you.

However, in the meantime you can play the TOSv1.4 'free'ware which everyone at Vicious Byte created at great sacrifice. It works on win95.

I didn't mean to be hostile.

And no, it's not a good solution, money is the problem. And my comp too.

And yes, I do wonder about the OS prob. Most new games still work on 95. I haven't found that many games not working on it.
