Game crashes when loading

I start from the main screen and when I choose the 1941 campaign and pick my side and icons etc it goes to load and then crashes with message that it "cannot continue"



I tried the smaller 1941 Rostov scenario and it loaded and ran for about 10 mins but then crashed with the same message
