Sizing the Map

Post by CJM »

I just purchased the game and am using the latest version (3.05)

When I launch the game, the playing area to move units is awful small, maybe about 1/3 of the screen. Is there a way to pan out? Is there a way to make the map fit the entire screen?

Any help would be much appreciated.

I just bought the game and am having the same problem, I don't see any options to run the game full screen or to select the resolution. My monitor's native resolution is 2560 x 1440. I downloaded version 3.0.5 of the game from the Matrix website. As it is, the game is almost unplayable, can anyone help?

I am PMing you with a link you can use to update to v3.05. The link to v3.05 on the webpage for the game is not actually an update to v3.05

Thanks, that worked, though it's still a bit odd when I try to fun at my monitor's full resolution of 2560 x 1440, it now only fills half the screen. I works better when I set it to a resolution a little smaller than my screen

Yeah, you need to play around with your computer's screen resolution (in Settings) in addition to updating to v3.05 to find the right balance. My map now takes up the entire screen, so all's well that ends well!

Hey All
I am late to the party on this one. I dug up my old COTD game and installed it here on my desktop. but I can only get 1440 X 900 res.

Any help on what I need to do to fix the RES problem would be great. [&o]

Thanks in Advance

First question is how much of the v 3.05 game start screen can you see, does it look like this :

Are you seeing all the 'Screen Resolution' buttons, because the game resolutions include the 2560 X 1440 option you mentioned in your PM ?

Yes, I see all the above screen..But only can click on the High lighted Res.1440 x 900 and the other Res's to the Left of it. Can not click on the res's to the right of it.
The bottom row I can click on the Res 1366 x 768 and the ones to its Left but not the res's on the right.

Well, I think I may have figured out my Problem..just not sure how to fix it.

My newer computer does not have a CD player..so I loade the game on my older computer then transferred the files (after loading) to a USB drive.
I Think the screen Res. is locked by the monitor size I had on my original computer when I dloaded it from CD..

Thoughts ?

There is a configuration file "irunin.ini" in the game folder.

With these 2 lines.

What happens if you edit them manually and save the file?

%SCREENWIDTH%=2560
%SCREENHEIGHT%=1440

Very odd that the 3.05 update from the webpage is not actually the update and has to be shared by p.m. I can only get the resolutions AP514 mentions. 1920 x 1080 is greyed out and unclickable for me yet I just saw a screenshot in the AAR section with 1920 x 1080 highlighted.

Maybe someone with a real 3.05 could share a link here?
