Stuck research

Some of my research projects are getting stuck at 90+% and go no further. If I switch those councils to another project it completes, but when I come back to the stalled one it stays stalled. I cannot for the life of me figure out what's going on.

The report just says, e.g. "With 257 BP available we gained 0 research points".

What am I missing to ungum this?

There are 2 types of research lines, Binary and Linear. Binary is something you have to complete to get linear never completes and adds benefits as the tech goes up. Linear requires MORE and MORE research points for each percent and cost in the Thousands after a certain level.

That's what I wasn't seeing/understanding. All clear now, ta muchly.

With linear you have to design a new model once you get the tech up to what you want to get benefit, you see it on the page that shows all your models. it will be losted as something the unit has now.

With Linear Techs i usually just research them upto the 60-70% range, beyond that the cost/benefit curve nosedives

You also need to make a design pass to work in any binary techs (like Armor Skirts).
