Fluctuation in PP cost for stratagems

Post by Maerchen »

Hi,

is there any rule for what costs I have to expect for strat cards?

I had variation of 30-37 for Wargames, 50-63 for Mission impossible. I was wondering why.

Any rule?

Yes, I've noticed this too and was wondering whether it was pure randomness or whether something under my control was driving it.
Another example, I've seen junior leader vary from about 6 to 9 PP, if I recall correctly.

Yeah actually found this out recently due to try to support my cash reserves (to prevent rioting) with efficiency drive.. PP's become a problem.

It depends on your relation with the leader that rolls for that card. The better the relation, the cheaper it is to play.

Whoa! That explains a mountain of things!
For example, why new councils are so prohibitively expensive in PP - well, perhaps because my secretary and I just don't get along...

It is actually extremely logical. The worse the relationship the more means one has to use.

It is actually extremely logical. The worse the relationship the more means one has to use as in people are less co-operative.

With new councils there is also a cost increase based on how recently you made another council. Just making new councils every time the question pops up is going to be pretty expensive.

Yeah, that makes sense too and I sort of intuitively figured that part out. But this game my council costs have been extremely high for a long time even though I hadn't formed a council in quite a while (due to the PP cost!). So, it's probably the secretary I fired a couple turns ago with whom my relationship was in the 30s [:'(]

The way i understand it, there is a static increase incouncil costs.
And a "hey, you formed another one recently" surcharge, that decays over 20 turns or so.

It could be the Secretaries relation is in there as well.
