I'm not 100% sure, but I think it's from a player having saved and reloaded the game in the middle of his/her round. It indicates a possible cheat in the sense one could save the game, try a few things and if they don't work out reload the turn to it's previous state prior to the poor result.

I'll bet my first human opponent thinks I'm a super-cheater [X(]. Since I was learning how the game system worked I was trying and retrying the same situation many times over, different ways to figure out how to do things. I'll bet he got a 'possible cheat' every round!

Yeah, you are not supposed to do that in multiplayer.

I think a similar thing is possible with the Order of Battle multiplayer, basically doing half your turn and then restarting. I figure if someone needs to resort to that to beat me they're sufficiently terrible at the game it won't make a difference. Still hesitant with multiplayer for this however as game length surely makes it impractical. Or maybe I'm wrong?

It's not like there's prize money up for grabs.

So, my philosophy is I'd prefer to enjoy the social aspects of multiplayer than worry whether someone is cheating me for a zero dollar / zero recognition event. If someone needs to cheat, well that weighs on their conscience, not mine - I'll probably never know and will have just as much fun and enjoyment of the game regardless. For that reason, I always play multiplayer.

There is two messages you get, the wiped logbook is just that, SE can't find the log of how many times the player saved/opened the game so the player may be erasing it to hide savescumming. There are also messages that count the number of times they did so if they dont hide it.
