Asset or Tech Reference?

Post by redrum68 »

Is there any reference guide on each asset and each tech? There is some information in the updated manual but doesn't give all the costs/consumes/produces information.

The values of any buildable asset are stored in the savegame (together with Stratagems and Events). So they can only be reliably extracted from a running game. Any list in the Manual would be out of date immediately and only add confusion.

Is there any way to view the values? An example of when you'd want to view them is when choosing what tech to research and being able to compare what asset it provides vs what you already can construct.

You can view the values of the Assets in teh build menu, or when rightclicking on any instance. The values will include all levels.
Nothing before you have the technology.

It might be easiest to ask on the forum how to deal with a specific shortage.

That's unfortunate. It would be a great enhancement to be able to view asset information from the tech tree. That way a player could compare say whether power plants is worth researching compared to solar panels.

At the current balance, the answer is always: Solar is better.
It needs less worker/energy unit, no upkeep and very little to build. The fuel burner plants just can not compare.

It is the same with most other tech. There is a clear ideal solution.

Agree that was just an example as I already researched it and realized solar panels are pretty much always better. But being able to see info on power plants before I researched them would have allowed me to make an informed decision on whether to research them. Right now unless you memorize what each researched tech asset provides there is no way to determine whether it should be prioritized to research it.

Energy Asset Guide: https://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=4924802

If emphasizing by worker-production efficiency (as late game population becomes your most scarce asset)...

Gravitronic is the most efficient.

Nuclear Fusion reactors (assuming a usable supply of fissiles) are the most efficient scalable energy asset.

Assuming ready supply of water, Volcanic energy is very good too.

Oil fired Power Plants are decent assuming you've got lots of mineable oil. Otherwise you have to take into consideration the cost of manufacturing the fuel.
