PBEM Version problem

So I've got an e-mail confirming my opponent has been able to play his turn. However I can't.

My version says 1.08.01 but when I check for the latest updates it tells me I have the latest update installed. Then when I click on PBEM++ Online I'm told the server requires 1.09.00 Please Upgrade to the latest version.....

Any ideas why I can't upload 1.09.00 or why it thinks I've uploaded it even though the game is clearly telling me I haven't?

Perhaps the auto-update is not working, can you try downloading and installing the update direct from here?

Thank-you. As posted below, what do I do with the download. Keep it simple please I am a computer numpty - thanks

Please unzip it, usually a right click and then select the decompress or unzip option. Then double click the installer EXE and it should install for you pretty straight forward after that.
