PBEM turn will not load

I am Japan in my first PBEM game. I just got my opponents turn back and it will not load. When I select it, it starts to load and then quits back to the UV main menu with the buttons messed up, all but one are missing and exit game will not work. By ALT-TABing out and then reselecting I get the main menu back and can exit the game. I never get to the point where I am asked for my password. Is this a known problem? Could I have an installation problem? I had no errors or problems patching to 2.3.

edit: no comments or suggestions yet so I tried reinstalling. No difference, same problem. Asked opponent to resend turn to a different address.

A new turn fixed this, but a message box saying that the turn file was corrupt would be a nice thing. It would save a lot of worry and such.
