De Castlenau HQ unit . . .

Post by stockwellpete »

In SP, Veteran level, twice now I have had an easy kill of this French HQ unit on hex 157,84. It is positioned in front of a lot of adjacent French infantry units in that area. Is that as intended?

Thanks for mentioning this, and the good news is that Hubert has been doing some work on HQ positioning in the code, so hopefully come the next patch the AI will protect this and other HQs better than currently.

OK, that's good. If you could also mention to Hubert that in SP it is very noticeable that the AI Russian HQ units tend to cluster together a lot - in Lithuania, in Galicia and in the Caucasus.

This is great! Another suggestion for the AI Auto HQ is adjusting to distance and assigning closer units as human players do. Often the Auto-HQ is still assigned to units very very far away due to updated movements as units move further and further away...

Maybe with better code, the AI won't need so many freebie HQs.
