Evaporated units

Hi a question:

if you encircle an enemy unit and evaporate it, nearly all its equipment is lost (in TOAW III about 5% escaped, I guess its the same in TOAW IV).

Now I had this situation:

Entente attacks Central Powers, and their retreat path is blocked by other CP-units. So they evaporate. What's the case here: is it the same, as if they were encircled? Or is the equipment just "damaged" and goes to the reserve-pool?

The encirclement of a unit doesn't have a direct effect on its equipment being completely lost or not.

What triggers if the evaporated unit's equipment partially returns to the pool or if it's 100% lost is the unit supply status at the beginning of the turn.

If the evaporated unit is supplied, part of the equipment returns to the pool, if it's unsupplied the equipment is 100% lost.
