What games to play?
Hello everyone. Well, I wanted to try new games to play and I had to look up some good games. As it took me a long time searching for good games and after trying them I can confirm the ones I personally found good. If you are looking for games to play that have a good review, then this is the thread you'd need to read. I actually found many websites and as I don't wanna spam you guys I'd rather recommend the games. So personally I think among us is the best out there if you are looking for games to play with people of different ages. then there is cyberpunk 2077, I personally find it super entertaining but it is definitely a bit "pricey". I also tried animal crossing, which is a fun game too but might get boring after some time (very personal opinion). I also tried rainbow six siege, very fun but if your team is not coordinating well ur dead haha. These are my favorite top 4 games to play. You can actually look up "top ten most played games in 2020 sheeparcade" to see a list of well-reviewed games, it is the list I followed anyway. I also looked up Infos in ign and Gamespot and they seem to all share the same results. I hope this thread was helpful. I'll keep uploading useful threads and posts <3. Peace out.
RE: What games to play?
Welcome, gamesaddict. This forum is dedicated for war games released by Matrix Games and Slitherine, which aren't anywhere near of the most played games. Discussion about other games (and other subjects) is not banned though. If you have interest for war games or want to check them out, you're very much welcome in here. Would you like to have some recommendations?
You know what they say, don't you? About how us MechWarriors are the modern knights, how warfare has become civilized now that we have to abide by conventions and rules of war. Don't believe it.

Idk about cyberpunk game just came out, there alot of ranting going on the steam page about that game. Even some weirdos making mods to have sex with reeve, etc. Dunno where this world is becoming to, but getting crazy every day out there.
Now sure what kinda game you are looking for, after reading some details here, have you tried Grand Theft Auto V or Online?

RE: What games to play?
"Sex" mods do exist since people create mods (some here may remember the unfamous "Hot Coffee" mod for GTA San Andreas). But If I think about Cyberpunk 2077 right now my worry is the still dire condition. Even after patch 1.1 a lot of work must still be done to reach an acceptable game experience.ORIGINAL: Rising-Sun

Not to mention how GTA V (2013) is still miles ahead of CP2077. The "comparison" videos on YouTube are unforgiving.

I put something up in Steam forum, cyberpunk 2077 page, good lord i had alot of rants going on in there. Its quite funny how they react to it. Wanted to post it, but i couldnt find the link. The weird part is most players are guy getting off from reeve with those silly mods, not mention TES Oblivion, saw some with di*k hanging and even with a hardon. Not sure where this world is going, but sure is getting wild out there.

Why not start with something a little bit simplier than our standard wargames... see if you enjoy turnbased as a genre?
I recommend games like Gladius, Panzer Corps 2 and Fantasy General 2 for newbies to wargaming.
Games like Shadow Empire, Command, etc are really awesome, but definitely not for beginners in my humble opinion.

WITP:AE but not the Grand Campaigns first. Play Coral Sea first, then Guadalcanal second. Play both sides several times to learn then play the larger and longer scenarios.
Seek peace but keep your gun handy.

I think it is GPT-3 generated. There was a famous GPT-3 bot active on Reddit a few months back.
It could create complex, rational posts on widely differing topics. It was only caught because
its post frequency was so high that it could have only been machine generated.
I recently read how researchers are training AI to emulate musical artists. The goal
is to create brand new, never heard songs by the likes of Elvis Presley, for example.
Right now the results are very crude but give it time and its going to happen.
A new Elvis song, randomly generated with a click of the mouse, into infinity.
Or whatever artist you desire.
It's really going to be a strange future. I'm all shook up.

AIs will be no better than clever idiots until they get an OS they can rely on.

RE: What games to play?
Don't overestimate current AI capabilities. A good example is chess. A lot is being said and written about AIs beating Gran Masters and World Champions since the late '90s (when Big Blue defeated the then World Champion Garry Kasparov). Truth is: this happens only if the human player tries to win. The "fortress" problem still has to be solved. This happens when the human player keeps all his pieces close to the starting line and only moves them to protect each other. Even powerful AIs like Stockfish or the current brouhaha, AlphaZero, have problems in starting a winning attack: ironically, to have a chance they need for the human player to cooperate by "playing to win". Of course the end result will always be a draw - you don't win by playing like that. But you can deny to the AI the opportunity to "show itself".ORIGINAL: DeepBlack

Try the same tactic against a decent human player and he will blast your pieces left and right out of the board. This is why against a "fortress" defence an AI will need, then and now, a "human intervention", i.e. a good human player who is able to break the standstill before returning the game to the computer.
