WitP vet but AE rookie looking for a japanese opponent - vanilla

Hi all, i'm french, and played WitP a lot 10 years ago, my games (both sides) having been 2-3 years long (i'm not givng up early and easily). I bought AE at that time but never really practiced : i stopped for work and family reasons. But after 1-2 years of temptation and hesitation (was considering playing the AI but just can't, it's not the same taste), i'm taking the plunge, here i am again.

As a AE-noob, i'm looking for a japanese opponent for the campaign on a vanilla scenario (trying to avoid mods, except esthetic ones), thinking that Allied side allows some early mistakes (like historically).

My main requirement would be to maintain a good playing rythm : 1+ turn/day, even more during weekends if possible. Another point would be to be able to commit to long-term game too, please. Early giving up can be frustrating for all You are an old grognard wanting to try a new strategy and to seal-club me ? You're welcome, i'm in no fear ^^ ! You're also a newbie, all the same, you're welcome !

I would go with "classical" House Rules (to be determined on detail)
