Panzerfausts in CC Arnhem...

Close Combat – Last Stand Arnhem is a highly enhanced new release of Close Combat, using the latest Close Combat engine with many additional improvements. Its design is based on the critically acclaimed Close Combat – A Bridge Too Far, originally developed by Atomic Games, as well as the more recent Close Combat: The Longest Day. This is the most ambitious and most improved of the new Close Combat releases, but along with all the enhancements it retains the same addicting tactical action found in the original titles! Close Combat – Last Stand Arnhem comes with expanded force pools, reserve & static battlegroups, a troop point buying system, ferry and assault crossings, destructible bridges, static forces and much more! Also included in this rebuild are 60+ battles, operations and campaigns including a new enhanced Grand Campaign!

Panzerfausts in CC Arnhem...

Post by The_Good_Captain »

can anyone explain how these work in the game? I know theyre equipped in my squads but I can't order them to kill tanks that are so obviously in range... I get the reply "we can't hurt that". I had about 3-4 squads in a single battle have tanks drive into 15m or so and NONE fired a panzerfaust? What am I doing wrong...? (please dont reply if its something like, get better tactics or something)

is there a dice roll before the battle whether the squads actually have them or not?

No dice roll for equipment.

Typically a squad will only get one faust, maybe two. You cannot tell them to fire the faust specifically. "We can't hurt that" is what they say when told to fire their primary weapons (guns). At 15m you should get a green or maybe yellow circle which reflects the chance to kill with the fausts.

They should be firing when the tank is at close range. Try switching from ambush to defend once the tanks get very close. Its also possible that infantry with low morale and or experience will turn broken or panicked with a tank so close and fail to act, having a command team nearby can assist them. Sometimes having infantry run fast towards a tank will get them to use their fausts.

The most accurate answer will be found in the LSA Workbook. View the infantry teams and weapons characteristics, and view the tanks armour values. Combine that with some screenshots of the in game situation and you will have a much better understanding.
