Opponent message
For two turns, the message I sent to my opponent appeared copied as the opponent's message on my next turn.
My opponent told me that the same thing had happened to him in another PBEM that he was playing.
Note: Save shift reports in case they are needed.

Is that in the Beta or live version?
Appears to be find in my games.

RE: Opponent message
The game was created with the official version, but since I have Beta installed I also always have the doubt if I answered my turn with Beta or with the official version.

RE: Opponent message
New turn and again I have my message sent back, as a message from the opponent, this time I can confirm that it is the official version and I answered from the official version.
RE: Opponent message
I am noticing that now. I wonder if they do not write back if it stays.
I did not write back on the message last turn so I will test that on my next turn.

RE: Opponent message
This happened the previous turn in my game which I can no longer save the game (reported in another thread).
Potentially it's as you say above - happens when the opponent doesn't write anything.

RE: Opponent message
I have the honour of being the opponent of Comadrejakorp.
It has happened in both my .09 games but only when the new pbem server started working. My messages came back to me as if they were my opponents'. STill getting repititions.

RE: Opponent message
This is how it works. It always keeps the previous message till someone replies. You see what they types and you can type a message yourself.
It has always worked the same way and hasn't changed from 16 months ago.
The code is the same.

With respect Alvaro, that has not been my experience. It has always been the case that if I wrote a message to my opponent and he does not respond, then on my next turn if I check messages it says something to the effect of "There are no New Messages". I think if it had repeated my message back to me as having originated from my opponent I, and others, would have noticed this before. This is something new that is happening since Slitherine updated the pbem system.

RE: Opponent message
Totally agree.
Before updating servers it didn't work like that.

Yeah, this is a new phenomenon

Yes I receive my own message.

That messaging system hasn't changed. Maybe they changed some data structure.
I will ask Matrix as the message is passed in their data structure and test it out myself.

RE: Opponent message
I just played several turns vs myself in PBEM passing messages.
I don't understand what is wrong?!
I successfully passed messages between myself.

That is three turns that I have the exact same message. Maybe still in cache?

It stays there till you send another message and also in case you didn't read it the 1st time.

RE: Opponent message
I did not understand the usefulness of this new function, well, I imagine that we have all wondered at some time if we had checked the messages.
Although if possible it would be better to keep your own messages and those of the opponent from the last turn so as not to forget the thread if you spend a lot of time between turns.

The message icon is always indicating there is a message now even if the message is not new.

+1 I often find myself unable to understand an opponent's response to a message from me because I have completely forgotten what I was writing about
