Post by ledrobi »

We have released a major update for Strategic Command: World War I, featuring tournament support.

TOURNAMENT SUPPORT

The first official tournament is now available, and you can sign up here.

The tournament will be divided into three rounds, each featuring a unique challenge:

Round #1 - 1914 March on Paris

Refight the initial battles on the Western Front at a divisional level. Can Paris be taken in 3 months?

Round #2 - 1918 Ludendorff Offensive

Germany launches its great spring offensive in this divisional level campaign.

Round #3 - 1914 Call to Arms (Grand Campaign)

The Call to Arms has been issued and Europe is at war. The Great War has begun!

This might be a good opportunity to get some feedback from players who don't normally post on the forum. Whether there could be a designated thread or something to encourage it?

Hi Semaeon,

Please navigate to the PBEM++ Lobby screen and in the bottom right hand corner you should see a 'Tournament' button. If you click on this, it should then take you to the appropriate screen where you can load your current turn.

Hope this helps,
Hubert

Hi Hubert Carter,

If i click on PBEM ++ online, a windows opens, showing me only locked open challenges by unknwon members wanting passworts.
On the right side, i see my challenges, but they are empty.
On the right below are my games, but they are also empty.
There is NO tournament button!!!
Very below i se on the left: JOIN, EXIT and on the right PLAY.

On the right up of the window i see the word Paradies....

Can it be, that i am locked in with the wrong identity automatically???
Because i wasnt asked to lock in, the windows opens automatically.

I play with a steam account, maybe this is the problem?

Hello Hubert,

Me too. Same issue as Semaeon. I have signed up for the SC WW1 tournament as Douglas E Shaw. When I got this game and first tried to use the PBEM feature (MultiPlayer sign in) it asked me to create an account. I created the AdmrialYamamoto handle. Now it is the only one I can access from the SC WW1 shortcut. I suspect this is the same issue with Samaeon who appears to be logged in as Paradies. How do we reset out MultiPlayer sign in? Thanks.

Sorry to hear about the trouble here guys and yes I believe you'll need the same login that you used to sign up for the tournament as you would then have for the PBEM++ server.

Your best bet is to contact Matrix Support as they would then be able to help you sort that out:

In the 'March to Paris' tournament round I have conqured the German captial as well as all NM objectives. Now also all german units are destroyed but the game does not end?
Should not Germany surrender and the game ended.
My opponent cannot surrender, there is no button in the tournament screen.

Had the same issue (I only beat the ai though :(). I had to keep ending turn to the actual end date for the victory to trigger. I don't think they expected people to be that dominant in this scenario maybe.

Hi Fafnir,

Sorry to hear about this odd situation and I just did a quick check and there is no victory condition set for when the Germans are routed like this, so yes the game unfortunately does not automatically end as it should.

If I can ask, what is the current in game date of your match? The game should auto end on October 10th, 1914 with the final victory conditions kicking in at that point.

Hi Shri,

Sorry to hear about the trouble, is there an error message? Could you provide any more details to help me better understand the issue?

Thanks,

Ok, so i had to deploy Germany artillery at Dusseldorf instead some error message came and my game got exited. Now, thankfully the engine didn't take it as a completed turn. Also i couldn't properly screenshot the error message.

Can you try the turn again but without deploying the Artillery right away when the turn begins, e.g. try another action first by canceling the unit deployment, maybe moving/attacking with a unit if applicable, and then try deploying it to again by clicking on New Units to see if that helps?

Hello Tournament Director. My name is Doug Shaw. I signed up for this tournament under the username Douglas E Shaw. I was not able to start my first round match with Chema_Cagi due to a mismatch in usernames. (See previous posts above in this thread). The Matrix help desk has finally fixed my username issue but they had to change me over to a new username. The Douglas E Shaw account had spaces and would not work for some games. My new user name is AdmiralYamoto. I am still interested in playing Chema_Cagi. Can you switch me over from Douglas E Shaw to AdmiralYamoto so that we can still play? I know there is not a lot of time left in this round but I would still like to play. Thanks.
