Final PBEM resign

Post by ComadrejaKorp »

Something that could be improved about Warplan is the end of the game, it must be taken into account that in 80% of the games one of the two players resigns and the game ends suddenly, without even a summary screen, only a cold email, it is a sad ending to long and fun games.

I think it would be nice if when someone resigned, both players could see a summary screen as if the end of the game had arrived (but without VP summary) and be able to navigate the map.

As we are talking about a very high percentage, I think it would be important to implement this, nobody likes a good movie with a bad ending (:

Absolutely right.

The resign button is designed to give up the game and tells the server to delete it.

How is it done in other games?

I don't know how it's done in other games. I've only played PBEM in Warplan.

I understand then that the resign button communicates directly with the server, so it seems difficult to change this way, I imagine it depends on Matrix.

Would it be possible to add a surrender button within the game? Due to the characteristics of Warplan (where many games do not go to the end) I think it would be a great addition.

It is just a suggestion, I love this game as it is from day one.

Maybe a valid idea for Warplan2?

It happens like this in all other matrix/slitherine games I know, but I haven't played multiplayer with any other system.

You should be grateful to get a resignation rather than just a disappearance which I've had in many Wite games.

You mean like an in game surrender button that sends the turn back as a turn and says "yo you win they surrender!!! have some pizza"

Not a bad idea.

Depends, is it surrender or unconditional surrender? [:D]
