Turn 2: Still on the prowel......

Post by Commander Klank »

Manuvering down the center road and through the terrain, scanning the distant ridge lines I could only hope for a long ranged gun fight. At extended range I'd gladly give him the first shot at my front armor, but I suspect my prey is a bit too whily to expose himself at this point.

On with the hunt!

Move and shoot

Post by Commander Klank »

I make a dash to gain higher ground. One shot misses my exposed side as I break out of his smoke screen to gain higher ground. I then manuver my front armor to maxumum angle and pump off 3 long range shots.

I decide not to pop smoke and continue the gun fight into Jess's turn. At 29 hexes hopfully my angled front armor can deflect any lucky APCR hits. My penatration at that range is about 125. While he has a one level advantage on me a hit could still take him out.

This is what tank combat is all about; skill mixed with chaotic luck

Klank...

Post by Orzel Bialy »

Ok, hope you don't mind some preaching from the pulpit. ;)

While I know one on ones are greatly tainted by the "luck factor" and even the best handled Kat could fall to a 1 in a million shot at any time...remember not to mishandle them.

Never forget that Tigers don't "dash" anywhere. A Panther perhaps...but not the Big Kat. ;) lol

Don't let Jess or the traitor (Hawk) bait you into playing their game with the "sissy Katz drivers hide and go for long range kills" comments. Remember always that Katz stalk and then pounce.

Find good firing positions and take advantage of any that give you a good long range killing lane. Usually, if you play on a "Jess Map" (don't) it will be all woods and hills....so you will have to look hard for a good spot. However...don't get sucked into the idea of trying to take on a EZ8 in a short range brawl...no matter how cocky you may being feeling. :D

Ha I'm just getting started with this one on one stuff. It's like anything else; there's a learning curve to be had.

Give me a few games and I'll be shooting you sherman boys so full of holes you woun't be able to drink water any more:p

What was your crews experiance? Mine was 76 and my leaders armor rating was 30 freak'in 7......LOL

And Hawk, go play with your paint shell will ya....WooF WooF:D

Ummm...

Post by Orzel Bialy »

pardon me EZ8 boys (still won't call those M4's)....but weren't these battles supposed to have crew morale and experience factors for both sides even?

I could have sworn that I read 100 for each values on both sides was supposed to be a rule of thumb for the 1-1's...to keep the playing fields even and cut out these types of happenings?

Could it be that some of these battles have been tainted?

Jesse said the factors were random. I was kinda woundering about that though. I would think 85 or 90 would be a good level.

Oh and Orzel did you check out the map I made?
