Since the game just came out EVERYONE is new to WitE2 [:D]

As an old WitE1 player, I can say that WitE2 is so different, that knowing how to play the older game is a hindrance as so many things have changes, but we are still playing WitE1 which is not working out so well lol. So I actually think new players are in better shape.

The only leg up previous players have that I can see is that we are used to how ground units move lol.

I'm not new "technically", but I must confess that I didn't spend more than a couple hours on the first one. Really been loving this iteration though and have already put ten times the hours in thus far. Really enjoying it!

Some Beta testers are here. I've been playing the game on and off for several years. It still fascinates me.

I remember when they were no AOGs for instance.

I'm brand new to any Gary Grigsby game, but not hex and counter TT wargames. I'm really enjoying it!

WitE 1 might have taught some "bad habits" regarding gameplay.

This is plays different. [8D]

I have been playtesting WitE2 for the last four years. I have more time in on WitE2 than I do with WitE1. :)

Absolutely new to WITE2 and only about half a dozen hours in WITE2.

I am still blundering around but learning almost every turn I play and the Strategygaming Dojo you tube videos have been brilliant.

The game itself is maybe the best game I have ever played and the design is really clever in particular the VP system which prevents the Soviets just hightailing it back to the Urals on turn one. The air war is what bounced me off War in the West and I now feel almost confident enough to have another crack at it in due course because of what I have learnt in this game.

Finally WitE2 is out and working well enough, thanks...

Not a newcomer, but thought I'd compliment the developers, etc.

I played War in the East when it was a board game long, long ago. So in this iteration I read about 300 pages of rules, did the first tutorial scenario, then jumped into the big campaign game (defaults w fogs of war) as Soviet. It's turn 15 and I'm getting my ass kicked everywhere. I was feeling a little depressed about it but then I discovered how to check historical progress vs current game progress, and I'm a full two months better than historical pretty much across the board.

The turns take sooo long as I have to look up stuff constantly. It's still mostly a mystery to me.

Relatively new to the community and War In The East 2. Have been a "lurker" following Gary Grigsby games for many years but have never had a chance to dedicate the time needed to really getting into it. Looking forward to doing so with WITE2 and have been loving every minute of it so far!

New to WiTE2 but not to gaming. Have WiTE/WiTW but only played around with the introductory scenarios a few times. I am watching a YouTube Let's Play WiTE2. I glance at the Manual when looking something up. Enjoying the game vs AI so far... no way am I ready for PvP yet. Unless there was an absolute newb out there to play campaign.
