Axis AI Settings

Gary Grigsby’s War in the West 1943-45 is the most ambitious and detailed computer wargame on the Western Front of World War II ever made. Starting with the Summer 1943 invasions of Sicily and Italy and proceeding through the invasions of France and the drive into Germany, War in the West brings you all the Allied campaigns in Western Europe and the capability to re-fight the Western Front according to your plan.

Coming back to this game after a long break. What are recommended settings vs Axis AI grand campaign for a decent challenge? I assume morale 110, but unsure about optional VP settings and beachhead victory points. thanks

And do you recommend addl air HQ GC or base GC scenario versus AI?

as you say 110 morale is good, I'd take the most demanding of the VP schedules.

the 'supreme command' scenario that Red Lancer created is really good for vs AI play. I've had my most fun (= really frustrating) games vs the AI that way - it really forces you to be cautious in Italy so to take Rome in 1943 becomes a real challenge

To add to what Loki said, I only play the Additional Air HQ scenario now. Those additional AAHQ's give you so much more flexibility once you figure out the interactions of sub-HQ's (e.g., IX Tactical Air Command an 9th US Air Force).
