Relation bonus multiplier effect on BP and governors

Post by Maerchen »

Hello, as I am currently digging a bit deeper into game mehanics, I want to mention that relation has a huge impact on how good your BP get used in the councils:

Relation value equals % bonus to BP seems to be linear:

100 50%
99 49%
98 48%
97 47%
96
95
94 44% (22% on a governor food production skill)
93 43%
92
91
90
89

62 12%
59 9%

51 1% (0% seen on a governor relation bonus on mining task)

This is probably nothing new for the seasoned player, but maybe a good help for the new ones.

Conclusion: It is totally worth to invest in leader happiness, and you should avoid having leaders with below 50 relation. Governors get half the bonus than the cabinet, but this gets added on every roll they do to produce resources. Pay them salary, have an interior council that hands out bonuses, and the like.

Absolutely, Governor Relations bonus is plain [Relations-50] in Percent.
Meanwhile the Skill Bonus is "+1% per average Skill roll above 100".

So relations mater a lot, Skill - not so much.

The relation bonus for governors is halved for production of resources, but full for event skill rolls, or so is my assumption.

Good skills sure help, though. In the making of the UI guide I stumbled upon my SCC doing a nat 100 on a roll of +88 :)

Absolutely. In my current game I'm high in democracy and EVERY turn use all the cabinet retreat and governor convention-stratagems I'm possibly able to use. Arguably the two most valuable cards you can have. I also check the lowest relation leader every turn and bribe the hell out of them.

My meritocracies play Grand Convention and Mission impossible, which is nice, too.

I really love the synergy between the stratagems that give leader happiness and/or Xp, as both benefit my interior director, enabling him to train leadership and over time, crit success on Mission Impossible. 50 PP for 4 FP? Yes, please!

This is very important but not obvious. You may not get smart leaders but you can usually get happy ones which are as good or better in the short term.
