Soviet Rifle Corps

Post by Bladesss »

I seem to be losing Soviet Rifle Corps HQs and dont know why.
I realize that Mech Corps HQs got withdrawn because of Soviet reorginization.
I lost 19 Rifle Corp HQs on turn 5 and 10 Rifle Corp HQs on turn 6.
They were not listed to be withdrawn. They were not on the "reinf & transfer" list to other fronts.
They are on the "loses page" as units destroyed. But they were behind the lines, some by 20 hexes and not reached by German units. Are they being killed by the German air Force? I dont see strikes on them when i watch the German air missions.
I am assigning Corp Arty to the Rifle Corp HQs. Is that somehow killing them?
They seem to just disappear between turns.

a lot convert to Army HQs, you can see this on the unit counter and in the CR (before they convert) with the turn of change indicated

Some convert to armies and others just get disbanded, not on certain turn but some time late summer or early autumn. Should be all visible in the logistics report.

As the others post, this is normal, as the Red Army transforms. It's not a bad thing, as it will simplify your command and provide replacements in the pool for the HQs that do disband and don't transform into Army HQ

Early as Soviets it's also best to put all the Artillery and other Support units away in STAVKA for the first few turns.
