Beachhead supply

Post by Duck Doc »

July 6, 1941. Britain is alone. I click on an intrepid naval unit of mine and see I have an icon for Supply Beachhead and the number, 190. I used it inadvertently to supply a land unit in a port (good to know). I surmise I can use it for beachhead supply after an invasion but I am worried it will not last until we can put boots on the ground in NW Europe in Spring 1944. How is this supply value determined and is it an absolute value representing a finite pool or can it be replenished over time? Can't seem to find much specifically about it in the manual.

(Still learning as I go.)

Thanks,

Each naval unit has a supply value that they an provide each turn to units on the coast adjacent to them. 190 would supply a lot of units...I believe is is 1 point per str and there is some extra cost if the unit requires oil.

BE CAREFUL though...as you noticed it will use all the movement of the ship stack. So make sure this is the last thing you do and your stack must have one movement point left.

Thanks, stjeand, good info.

On page 68 in the manual, it labels it "Supply invasion (transports)" and it is the same for each naval counter so, it must represent the total supply capacity available to beachhead supply for invasions by using naval transports.

I see now that I have 210 total transports available and 20 in use so, that means my remaining 190 transports can be used to
supply a beachhead (or even a unit in port?).

I will play with it and see.
