Will we be having this kind of functionality in the near future?

Equipment Info

So it's a bit tight...

Very nice :)

We have all the data of course, just no screen real estate at 800x600 on which to display it. If we could just convince everyone to always play at 1024x768 we could do a lot more. Of course, one option is to enable these extra things only if you run the game at a decent resolution!

How about detecting the screen res and if it's <1024x768 popping up a window (you could make this functionality user definable ;)

Please consider 1024 x 768 as the default, I expect most folks have the Vid. card and OS system to use this.

Perhaps a poll of your fans for system specs ?

Matrix did a poll on their main website a while back. Turns out about 14% still use 800x600, though 1024x768 is the most popular resolution. But 800x600 is almost as popular as 1280x1024...

Screen Res Poll Results

So, not supporting 800x600 will be mean cutting out almost 15% of the market.

Iain, bear in mind that that is the prefered desktop resolution, doesn´t mean that the game can´t run on a higher one.

for folks with a 15" monitor 800x600 is probably the highest res that is still easily readable.

Making it a user-selectable option dependent on higher res works, or maybe having it appear as a separate window when an equipment item is selected?

Cheers

Nice shot, Critical. Very nice. I like it very much.

Dave,

I think it was already proposed previously on BFC forums, without this nice shot that fully explains why it can be so usefull, esp. for beginners like myself.
If it is not on you whish list already, please, make it so !
I hope the list is longer than the beard of Santa Claus now. :D

For the screen space, I think that a pop-up window would be fine. Also, do not consider delaying the game for it. It is a fine feature, but that's not a showstopper.

BTW, I noticed that my old proposal to have more explicit material icons in the equipement view didn't make it to this one. Can I still hope for game 2 ?

Dave, Critical, keep up with the good work,

JeF.
