New Message Icon doesn't ever go away

Once the Message function is used the icon showing a message stays on even though there are no new messages. This renders the internal game messaging useless since if it isn't used every turn you won't know you need to check when a new message actually comes in.

In screen shot below the message showing the version number was sent on turn 1. This has locked the "New" message icon circled in red on for the rest of the game.

Seems like most don't even realize they can message (or in my case mock me) in their PBEM games.
