CAP against Airfield Strike

Post by ncc1701e »

Are bomber counters not supposed to contain few fighters with them for their own protection?
If so, is it possible to have CAP to protect airfield against Airfield Strike?

Thanks

Air divisions are supposed to have in-built CAP. You see the US counter has 2 total air combat value. There just happened to be no damage this battle (posssibly converted to effectiveness loss, too).

Okay - do you mean that I will see an Air to Air combat result in the Combat logs if a fight is done?
I just want to make sure there is a CAP above my airfield.

I have also notice that many, if not most air attacks result in a 0.

I am assuming it shows 0 because there are 0 strength losses and effectiveness losses do not show up.

Air to air combat result in this game simply represents air superiority division combats. Air combats between non-superiority divisions still occurs, as does anti-air from fleets and anti-air on the ground.

Airfield attacks seem to only serve the purpose of grounding the enemy.

Basically you have attacking their airfield so they are unable to use their full support ability.
Each attack removes and op point for the unit being attacked.

Rarely does an aircraft get destroyed on either side. BUT if it does...it is almost always the attacker.

Where are all the pictures I have of planes doing strafing runs against enemy airfields? [:D]
