Does weather and time of day (day/night) affect ASW, submarine and mine warfare?

Does weather and time of day (day/night) affect ASW, submarine and mine warfare?

Post by Apollo11 »

Hi all,

Does weather and time of day (day/night) affect ASW and mine warfare?

In other words is weather (and we know that UV knows the weather for each HEX
because of "ghostbusters" no-fly icons) and time of day (day/night) affecting:

- submarines (i.e. how they can see and attack possible targets)
- ASW by ships (i.e. how they can see and attack sighted submarine)
- mine warfare (i.e. how MSW, DMS and DD/APD/PG/SC/PC ships sight minefield and clear it)

Any ideas gentleman?

If this is not done, IMHO, it should be...

I'm sure weather and period of day affects ASW and sub warfare as far as visual sightings go but whether it affects sonar or not I don't know.

Hi all,

I asked this because it seems implausible that, for example, non dedicated
mine sweeping ships (like DD, APD, PC, PG, SC) can detect and destroy mines at
night and bad weather.

Also the bad weather (and night) should impair the MSW capabilities of ships
that chase submarines...

Yes these items need to be fixed but don't hold your breath. WitP is taking all Matrix' attention.
