A couple things I can’t wrap my head around

I‘’be been playing casually for awhile now and have dabbled in wite 1 and witw.

I just can’t seem to wrap my head around the weakness of soviet rifle divisions. I’m routing and retreating units with impunity using single regiments.
A 10to15k man unit with artillery support and 1 to 2k rifles being defeated by attacking units half that size, and badly. Does the game calculation expect more units advancing? More generally, by late 42 when every 50 miles has 100k soviet troops, when does it ever make sense to attack? When I can attack a single 10 mile hex, and get zero retribution from neighboring hexes, I really lose interest. Isn’t there supposed to be a system where neighboring zones support attacked units? Also, for a war game and the level of activity, there really needs to be simultaneous action happening on both sides. Without that there is no realism, as one side gets blasted all week with no interim counterattacks!

Who are you playing? All but the newest soviet players (or lowest AI settings) are going to rub their hands in glee if they see regiments draining out their CPP on an attack, and after the first few weeks of ‘41 won’t be putting RDs that vulnerable into play, at least not without reserve units near by.
