AP Shortage

Post by drum_taps »

First let me get this out of the way, I'm a complete idiot. It's a case of something I didn't know I knew. I've made it to
Oct 10, 1942. I am occupied with trying to take the Tassafaronga half of Guadalcanal and at the same time I'm trying to back Milne Bay amphibiously. I need all the AP I can get and much of what I have in theater is damaged, heading back to Pearl. Meanwhile I have units and groups backed up at the pier in SF. I've only been able to a trickle make the crossing.

It took me to this part of the game to remember I could convert some AKs to AP. This after months of shortages. I have now thrown 12 AK into the conversion bin. Hopefully I will learn how to play this game by 1945 or most likely in my case 1946. [:)]

Well, you're not an idiot. Everyone has made mistakes in this game. Live and learn. Anyway, you can use AMC's to move troops and they unload a little faster than the xAP....GP

GP is right, it's complicated. Don't beat yourself up. Remember Rome wasn't built in a day, it took me a week, and Rome is a lot less complicated than this game!!!!

On the bright side the Japanese air attacks on my beachhead at Milne have eased up. but I have seen that easing before. I smell a carrier battle afoot. I've sunk their CV carrier fleet almost twice and like Jason the sunken carriers keep rising back. Well 4 are back. I've thrown my intelligence officer in the brig. lol

Don't do THAT! That is a relatively safe place. Give him a rifle along with other gear and then send him to the active fighting. [:)]

I decided to send him a solo parachute intelligence mission behind enemy lines in New Britain. We'll come get him up in about 6 months if all goes well.
