Well.... Rommel was in command in northern Italy at the time of the Sicily invasion. He just wasn't allowed to step into the country after the Italian surrender.

The History Channel in general (and Arthur Kent in particular), seems to have an agenda that is not dedicated to accuracy. Like all too many textbooks used in our schools, the History Channel does not always give us the facts - or slants the reports.
