Better Leader Averages - Version 1.02.52

Post by cblattmann »

Ver. 1.02.52

I have attached an updated leader spreadsheet to include all new leaders and added the leaders nationality. A grand single number average was added to reflect the overall quality of a leader (comparable to the in game number but a little bit more accurate).

I also attached it as a CSV file for compatibility reason since it allows that to be opened in Excel and Numbers.

Ver. 1.1

Three new ratings were added (mech: fpe & hpe, infantry: fpe & hpe, mp). These three new ratings display the probability of a leader to pass his leader check that would increase the ability of attached ground units to fire and hit (for both mech and infantry) and/or to move.

In addition there were also a few cosmetic changes to the spreadsheets.

The formula I used:
Mech FPE & HPE rating = (Initiative + Mech) / 2
Infantry FPE & HPE rating = (Initiative + Infantry) / 2
Movement rating = (Initiative + Admin) / 2

The rating numbers in this spreadsheet can be viewed as percentages. So a 5.5 would mean that a leader passes the rating check 55% of the time.

Both the Numbers and the Excel spreadsheet should now be available.

————————————————

Ver. 1.0

This is something I did to help me in my games. Nothing earth shattering. But maybe a few of you would like to use it as well.

I wanted to be able to better evaluate at a quick glance if a general is better at mech or infantry. I also wanted the rating average to more accurately reflect the chance of of that leader to pass his leader check.

Currently all ratings are added up and averaged. This means that for a ground only general the political rating (that has no influence on combat) and the air rating (most likely a 1) are factored in. Theoretically a poor general can receive a better rating due to the political rating and a good general’s rating can be lowered (like Erich Hoepner). This leads to average numbers that in general are much closer together. The difference between a good and a bad general are smaller. I wanted to make the gaps bigger so that it would be easier for me to pick their right general.

So here is the formula I used. The political rating is ignored. For ground only leaders the air rating is ignored. For air leaders the ground ratings are ignored. These all have no bearing on the HQ the general is being assigned to.

Mech rating = (Moral + Initiative + Admin + Mech) / 4
Infantry rating = (Moral + Initiative + Admin + Infantry) / 4
Air rating = (Moral + Initiative + Admin + Air) / 4

I hope this helps some of you making leader decisions.

This should not be a mod but how the game works by default.

A much better way to assess the usefulness of leaders. Thanks.

Gents-

First of all, thank you for your work.

I tried to open the excel spread sheet, but no go. Am not sure, but is this mod added to a particular folder, or a stand alone?

I am most grateful for your help.

Mac

I have attached the spreadsheet as a CVS file which you should be able to import into Excel or Numbers. Let me know if that worked.
