The power of manual air directives

Post by Teo41_ITA »

Hi everyone!

Before bringing WitE2 on my youtube channel, I decided to master the art of manually handling the air directives. Using the Road to Leningrad scenario as my favourite training "camp", I was just amazed by the results:

Using the AI-assist, the air losses are:
- 51 for the Germans;
- 629 for the Soviets.

While manually issuing the order to selectively bomb specific airfields on D1 exclusively (7.000 feet, 1 strike/airfield, 28x50 kg bombs), the losses are:
- 50 for the Germans;
- 898 for the Soviets.

I know that more experienced people can do better than me, but wow! 269 more soviet planes destroyed means a lot to me! [:)]

In my last 3 PvP games I have started to learn how to handle air manually, still a lot of it is a dark art to me.

It is painful trying to set up an Air Superiority over a battlefield before it happens to guard against Ground attack. Like how the Hell do you know 100% sure where your ground forces are going to be to set up a precise Air Superiority? You end up having a larger area requiring more fuel and maybe even drop tanks which take up even more fuel :(
