Please add option to disable save-on-load

Writing PBEM logbook (?) does overwrite the save file when game is loaded. This complicates synchronizing the save files over network and, at best, adds an illusion of security. Please make an option to disable any writing to save file outside of save+quit, or just disable this functionality altogether.

save files are always overwritten when loaded as the file needs to be unzipped and afterwards rezipped.

Why it is required to rezip it? I can see that PBEM logbook gets written but if that is disabled then save-on-load is not necessary.

Thats actually a good question. First time somebody asked me since 10 years as well!

But one that also impacts heavily on code stability, so give me a few weeks on this one. Made a note. Will get back on it.
