I started the German long campaign (my favourite after the Sov one) and I found out something weird (a bug?)
The only way I could get rid of the pesky Polish infantry is to have them rout and "disperse". I have caused in excess of 40 casualties (!) to some units but these &%$# infantry squads just keep on tickin'... Looking a bit more carefully at the squad icon, I could see it "wrapping around" at 7 men (i.e full squad has 15 figures, I destroy 8 and it shows 7 figures, next casualty "resets" it back to 15).
I tried doing a scenario as the Poles to see how many men are there in a Polish squad and ended up with 10 men per squad. Is this a normal thing for the Poles to have infantry squads the size of a company or is the computer commander cloning new men from bits and pieces of their falling comrades? Am I misunderstanding the "casualty" numbers as in "not capable for combat for the rest of the scenario" when in fact it's something else? Any insight would be appreciated.
BTW, I also started a Soviet campaign and the Finnish Ski Infantry behaves fine - it dies as it is supposed to

The infantry icons have been modified to make it so you can't really 'count heads' as you're used to in other SP games, and also, the amount killed shown, is not always correct, FOW!! I kept the old infantry icons for my personal set, I like to count heads, well, just actually see the enemy squad deteriorate before my overwhelming fire superiority, heh, heh!! If you, or anyone else wants the old ones, feel free to private E-mail me, if there is too many e-mails, I may have to post them with the rest, but we'll see. Hope this helps?
