Help with unlocked soviet front turn 1

Post by christenberryd »

I've started several campaign games as German against ai soviets. For the first time every single turn 1 I'm activating the soviet southern front even though I'm north and west of 187,187. Using beta 1.01.15 no early end. Actually started game with soviet under player control. I switched to soviet ai midway in my German move. Furthest excursions are along the double rail moving through x, 187, and I have control (no unit present) of hexes 187,186 ; 187,184; 187,178. What am I doing wrong?

Just started new games, didn't even move any German units, and soviet southern front was still unlocked. Tried 1941 campaign and no early end.

Are you seeing the AI moving the southern front, or are you trying 2 player and advancing the turn and seeing the southern front has MPs? I just advanced the game to the Soviet turn and the southern front units are still frozen with 0 MPs.

Don’t forget it’s also ZOCs that activates the SWF as well.

Joel, I have tried both. I have advanced the game to soviet turn, and am able as human player to move the units south of Lvov. In mid German turn 1, I've switched to Soviet AI completed my turn, and then on German turn 2 the Soviets have moved the southern front. I've just tried a new game using 1.02.01 beta and my soviets are unlocked without even moving any German units. Weird.

I tried posting a snip but get this: C:\fakepath\Capture.PNG is not supported

File size must be too large, now to cut it down without making the area of the snip useless?

Zovs, I was careful (I think!) not to change hex control. All hexes south and west of 187, 187 are still pink, using show hex control button. Worse, new games have unlocked Soviets!

I also tried to post my update history, but if I use periods I can't post as software thinks I'm sending a phone number and won't allow me to post.

If nothing comes to mind, no worries, I'll just play turn 1 as Soviet, then switch to AI soviet control on turn 2. I assume I can do that.

You could run some tests solo with you taking both sides for turn 1. I'd start with the DSF scenario.

Here you can clearly see while I control hexes adjacent to 187,187 the Southern Front is still locked (the purple units highlighted).
