Perfect timing on my anniversary coupon. Just picked up Decisive Campaigns Ardennes Offensive and Combat Mission Cold War for 50% off. Been waiting on Ardennes, and I am an old Cold Warrior with 5 total years in (West) Germany in the 70s and 80s, all with 8th ID. 2nd Bde in Baumholder in the 70s, 8th ID Hqs in Bad Kreuznach in the 80s. My wife and I loved Germany and still have friends there we see on social media. Lived in a little town called Reichenbach Nahe just down the hill from Baumholder in the 70s, renting rooms from a wonderful German family. We were just kids. I was 20. Wife was 19. They took care of us and helped us a lot in addition to being our landlords. The opa (grandfather) who lived down the street was a WWII veteran. They sort of adopted us while we were there. Lived in Bad Kreuznach in quarters in the 80s. Glad we never had to fight the Soviets.
