map resolution - too small and too big

If - in game - I change the size of the map to get a larger overview, I feel that (with resolution being 1920X1080) I badly miss an intermediate step. The lowest map resolution comes in nicely for tactical considerations, but the next bigger map is way too big in my eyes.
Anyone feeling the same? Feel urged to state it here, so it may evoke any reaction from Vic..

I'll second that.

Another minor issue with resolution...the button that toggles 7/8 res makes it possible to make it so the choices along the left hand side (general, map, units, sound, gfx and res) are no longer on screen, and then you're stuck. Would be nice to have a hotkey.
