Does supply sources vanish when enemy unit is close by?

Post by ZygfrydDeLowe »

So, in one of my games, I managed to get next to the hex with enemy supply source.
Next turn the SS was gone, and then, when I enabled the supply overlay and clicked on enemy units, it looked like they have no SS now.

Anyone else experienced this?
I did a quick search of the manual, but I didn't find any information about that mechanic.

Also - the AI should not abandon single, but very valuable hexes in favor of keeping the front line.
I've seen them moving out of VP cites, but abandoning your single supply source is not the best move.

Any save game of the ai showing that behaviour when pressing next turn shoulf be sent to vic@vrdesigns.net

It will help me improve the ai for a next patch

Best wishes,

I noticed this also. If it is too difficult for the AI to evaluate the benefit of staying&retreating, maybe we could add for the AI only some fixed garrison (like roadblock) to important points.
DC barbarossa was doing this (With automatic garrison in all soviet cities).
Brakes are for cowards !!
