Evasion mechanic question

Post by OldCrowBalthazor »

I'm aware that certain units have a better 'evasion' percentage chance than others when their hit points get low. The question I was wondering is if a land unit has the mobility upgrade...does that increase its evasion chance even more?

Correct

the more movility, more evasion, could be great a level two of movement, does mean that the i.e, the infantry gets truks

(dont be cruel with Pavia,;ie, in china; for example, when you get level 1, pavia fight as a wall, and that not working in this game)

So there is the possibility to set the evasion on attack/defense higher, but it currently is 0% for all upgrade increments.

Possible, but not currently activated.

You access that via the Research Edit screen, then go to Upgrades and Automatic upgrades.

The former affects them by the actual unit upgrade done (advanced tanks, mobility, artillery weapons) and the latter affects them per 'doctrine' (for lack of a better word here) - CnC, Infantry, Armor, Aerial, Naval, Amphibious (research).

I hope that made sense.

Agreed that it should be activated to a minor degree (Loss Evasion).

I was aware that evasion can be tinkered with in a mod...but was wondering about how it stands with vanilla and a unit with the mobility upgrade. It seems like some of my targets have gotten away more often if they had the mobility upgrade then not. Was just curious.

Don't be cruel with Pavia? LoL
Yeah..he has got mobility on some of his Japanese units in China...and some of his vanguard troops have escaped my traps. Very perceptive of you Zeckke...[8D]
Its been quite savage actually in China...but without spoilers..well lets say the worm has turned on these tormentors.

Stay tuned.

Thanks for the quick response btw.

I am not sure why. It is probably dependent on the unit type. There is a whole screen about that.

If a unit does escape losses due to evasion then some text saying so should briefly appear on screen when the unit is attacked, and it won't receive any casualties.

Is this what you're seeing, or something else?
