New to the game... Loving it!

Post by ru_disa »

I picked up this title a few days ago and I have to say, I regret sleeping on it when it first came out! I've only played the tutorial scenarios and the first two scenarios in the list, but I have to say that I'm loving the system. I can see how it's really going to open up in bigger scenarios, when more units and a bigger variety of weapons are introduced. Loving it! Congratulations to Peter Fisla on an excellent game. I have a question about the two expansion packs: what do they bring to the base game? Is it only bigger campaign scenarios or do they introduce new units and such? Would you say they're essential or just nice to have?

Thanks for the info!

Thank you for your kind words ru_disa, there have been few changes to the game but it's mostly campaigns. Jorgen actually worked on the expansions, I just focused on bug fixes and improvements. [8D]

Old timely player of SL, ASL and ATS. Just picked up this game, and after 30 minutes of frustration I was hooked. Great game!

The expansions packs adds long historical campaign scenarios that puts day and nights together in one long scenario. The first eight turns are day followed by four night turns. At the start of day two, three etc. broken units and malfunction weapons are either refreshed or lost. reinforcements will also enter along the campaign scenario. I tried to follow a histirical path but balance was vital as an important factor.
I hope that helps explaining the expansion packs.

Cheers
