Is there a short Scenario that is balanced?

Post by daddog »

I am looking for one that is less than 6 months long which is balanced. That is to say neither the American or IJN side has a serious advantage. Suggestions? :)

VS the AI? Not really.

PBEM? Possibly Scen 17, more so 19, if the IJN is aggressive during first 90 days or has eliminated huge numbers of Allied ships and land combat units.

The difficulty for the Japanese player is combatting the Allied ability to build bases (bulldozers are more valuable than CVs) and get points for them.

Hi Ron!

Not against the AI, but another human player. :)

17 or 19 only? Any others? I thought those were longer than 6 months. I am looking for one that would be after the IJN has all the might, and before the Americans have really gathered strength.

Anyone tried "Green Hell"?

About 3 months long.

American ships:
5 CV's
1 CVL
4 CVE's
9 BB's
7 CA's
12 DD's

IJN ships:
6 CV's
4 CVL's
3 CVE's
5 BB's
5 CA's
14 DD's

Americans have to or need to take Buna and keep Henderson. Looks like a fair shake on both sides. Thoughts anyone?

I think the down side is that the Americans are already intrenched at henderson so dislodging them is not going to be an easy task, nore are things going to likely go well in New Gunie for the Japanese, I havent played this one so I may be all wet but at face value that is how it look's.

17 and 19 I have played vs the AI tons and it's prety easy to get the uper hand as the Japanese, but I havent tryed it vs a Human.

Operation MO looks interesting I havent played that one yet either.

I think Green Hell is a lot of fun, and well balanced.
