Unit characteristics

Post by billios65 »

How do I /is it possible to adjust the various characteristics of counters placed on the map? I don't want to use the "scramble" option as it is not specific, for example I would like to have some formations with good morale and others others less so.

On-map changes of units is, unlike with the advanced editor of ATG, not (yet) possible.

I suppose I can create historical units in the troop-type & historical type editors with the very specific details that I desire. I just seem to be hitting a wall with error messages when I try to place my custom units.

Did you ever get past this roadblock? I was thinking of creating a couple units.

Yes with perseverance! The SCRAMBLE TABLE allows one to reduce the quantity of men and equipment in the unit. The AP ADJUSTMENT table allows one to "pin" selected units at game start for desired time. The STATS OVERRIDE table allows one to choose specific morale and experience for individual units or entire divisions for example. It just requires emersion and patience because the instructions are not always crystal clear.

Also, it is very important that you understand the mechanics involved with the TROOP-TYPE EDITOR, the HISTORICAL UNIT EDITOR & HISTORICAL MODEL EDITOR. Initially it has one scratching one's head, any discrepancies will cause problems.
The whole experience is similar to going on a short (week long) course with online tutors.
