Norway after UK occupation

Post by michaelCLARADY »

In a recent match I have conducted a rare (for me) preemptive UK invasion of Norway. Norway went down in one turn. Next turn a pro-German unit appeared in the interior mountains. No supply source. Those are all UK controlled. These guys have been running around in the hills for three turns. Eating what? Are they partisans or a real military? Anyone seen this before?

They will die...just takes time.

It is a pro-German uprising.

I highly recommend you surrender your position

Read the scenario notes.

Did that. There was no indication that the unit would form in Norway. I must wonder how a formal military unit could suddenly appear in a Country with so little in the way of military gear. Partisans? Certainly. But real troops? That seems a stretch. A Norway unit added to the German build que would be more logical.

Well it is not supposed to be a free unit for the Axis...more a deterrent for the Allies invading.
Basically if Norway does not fall Germans arm the Norwegians.

NOW should it be there is they surrender?

Maybe...
I do not mind it. It just runs around for a few turns and dies unless the Germans were ready and counter the invasion.
Then could be useful.

Keep in mind...

Allies invading Norway SHOULD not happen. Giving the option with basically no consequences is the problem.
It is pretty devastating to the Germans. They lose 300PP per year...may not sound like a lot but it is a good amount.

So as a consequence the Germans arm Norway from sub transported weapons...added to the already pro-Axis troops in the country.
