Totally unplayable

Hi,

So I have tried 3 scenarios including the 1st boot camp and have found multiple bugs.

1) I can scroll up, down, left but I can not scroll to the right.
2) When I hold control to attack, or click the attack icon the game scrolls to the right when I try to target an enemy.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Are you moving all the way to the screen edge?

There are a few scrolling options under the Options menu.

I should also state I own all of the John Tiller Campaign series that Matrix publishes and Middle East and haven't seen these problems before.

One thing would be to try and run a scenario and then post your log files. That might give a clue on what is going on.

I am having this same issue when I try to target a unit screen jumps

Quick edit changed to scrolling screen edge and that fixed it.

Does it do it regardless of the unit being chosen to fire?

1) I can scroll up, down, left but I can not scroll to the right.
2) When I hold control to attack, or click the attack icon the game scrolls to the right when I try to target an enemy.

Your best bet might be to play with Options > Scrolling > Scroll Bar toggled ON.

Have you tried playing with game window maximized vs. not maximized?

Otherwise, and if switching between Window Edge vs. Screen Edge scrolling makes no difference, this might be a mouse or video graphics driver issue. I had one laptop where the mouse was totally borked in game. I never could figure out what the issue was. (Ended up paving Windows 10 on that system and installing Linux.)

There is no point in submitting log files, as this seems to be an OS and/or driver related issue.

For screen jumps, to avoid having to scroll around the map all the time, two tips:

[*]Get in the habit of using the Jump Map, hotkey 'J', to move around large maps.
[*]A new Display > Hex Jump feature will be introduced in CSVN 1.01. Where you open a small dialog box, enter the destination map coordinates, and the map instantly jumps to that location.

Using the scroll bar does solve the issue but I hope this is a temporary fix.

I have the same issue. It occurs when I hold alt for attack and hovering the cursor over a unit. The problem seems to be the windows edge scrolling. The problem does not occur with screen edge and scroll bar scrolling.

The interesting thing is, that windows edge scrolling is actually not windows edge scrolling. It has the same behavior as screen edge scrolling. Maybe the problem could be there.

It now occurs to me. I have three monitors side by side by side in my dev system arrangement. The game works best when played in the left-most monitor. If I try to play the game in either of the two other monitors, things can get to be wonky. The reported rightward auto scrolling? That rings a bell. It may have something to do with dual (or more?) monitor use, and your scroll settings? If I attempt to play in other than the left-most monitor, Scroll Bar scrolling is the only viable option.

I have a 3 monitor system and play this game on middle monitor. Screen edge scrolling works best here, window edge scrolling works except when holding CTRL key for firing. Only problem with the edge scrolling is when moving cursor to another monitor the game scrolls all the way to edge of game window. Scroll bars also work here. No problems with lag so far even on large scenarios.
